Cinema Processor Software and Engineering Notes

The software and information on this page are provided for the convenience of owners of the CinemAcoustics CA-CP600 cinema processor, built by Peavey Electronics in the late 1990's. The CA-CP600 processor is comprised of two hardware units: the CA-DP300 processor and the CA-M300 monitor. The operating program runs on a PC, where it generates and downloads assembled DSP code and settings to the processing unit through a serial cable. The original software delivered with the unit can be downloaded below.

Please note that we provide no support for CinemAcoustics CA-CP600/CA-CP600S/CA-DP300/CA-M300 cinema processor other than the information hosted below. All information and software found on this page is provided without warranty of any kind.

The CA-CP600S software was written for Windows 95. It might run on Windows XP. It will not run on Windows 7 or later. In addition, you will need a computer with a serial port and a serial cable that connects to the processing unit. The Help file (see below) provides pinnout information and setup information for the unit. No information is available beyond that found on this page and in the files linked below.

Follow The Instructions Below To Download The CP600S Installation Files and Program

The link below will download the installation files for the CinemAcoustics CP600S revision 1.0d.7a program. If you have CP600S software already installed, you should first check its software version by means of the Add/Remove utility in the Windows Control Panel, or by looking at the version number appended to the CinemAcoustics folder name in your Program Files folder. If your current software is older than revision 1.0d.7a, it is recommended that you uninstall it prior to installing the new one.

Users who are updating to this version from versions 1.0d.6 or earlier should ensure that their old screen files are preserved before loading the new version. When loading the new version, you will have to re-align the theatre from scratch.

The complete set of installation disks can be downloaded by clicking on the link below. After downloading, UNZIP the set of compressed disks by double-clicking on the file ALL_DISKS.EXE in your computer. (Note: the original distribution was on floppy disks, but floppy disks are not required to install the program.) It is recommended that you UNZIP all compressed disk files into a single folder on your hard drive. Once all files are unzipped, double-click on SETUP.EXE to begin the installation on your computer.

The CA-CP600 manual is contained in the help file. The help file will automatically be installed when installing the CA-CP600S application. However, if you are only in need of the help file and the block diagrams, you can download these separately below.
